The walk above is just over a mile and a half there and back. The paths are mainly smooth gravel with some slightly uneven sections, and includes a small number of short gentle gradients.

About Rosemarkie Fairy Glen and Waterfalls

Rosemarkie Fairy Glen is a mixed woodland including Ash, Oak, Beech and Rowan, and an RSPB Nature Reserve (look out for Dippers!). At the top of the Fairy Glen are two waterfalls. A local legend describes how fairies keep the water flowing through the glen clean and pure for the villagers and historically, local children used to dress one of the the pool within the glen with offerings of flowers to keep the fairies happy and to ensure the continued purity of the water.

Getting Here

Rosemarkie is on the A832 between Fortrose and Cromarty. Park in the car park which will be on the right of the road just after you leave Rosemarkie if you are travelling north towards Cromarty, and on your left just before you reach Rosemarkie if you are travelling away from Cromarty and towards Fortrose. There is a bus stop next to the car park. The nearest postcode is IV10 8SJ.
